During I World War his monastery was overrun in 1914 and was occupied by the Russians. Arrested by the Russians in Tarnopol prob. together with Bro Anthony Korytko, among others. Transferred to Podwołoczyska prison and next to Kiev prison. There perished in prison’s hospital.
