In 1924‑5 under pressure of Russian communist authorities prob. caved in and signed a „letter of 130” condemning „anti–Russian activities of the Catholic church” in Vinnytsia region — published on 16.01.1925 Despite this arrested by the Russians at the end of 1926. Jailed in Vinnytsia prison. Harassed and tortured and as a result fell seriously mentally ill. Perished in prison hospital.
